i'm dying to get away somewhere but don't want to spend close to $2000 on a trip (for both me and my husband). you ladies know of some great, inexpensive spots?

all i need is a beach. really.

A friend of mine and I went to Dominican Republic a few months ago to a Hilton All-Inclusive Resort for about $600/person (included the flights from New York, all food/drinks and activities).


The resort itself was quite nice, the pool is enormous and the facilities are top rate.  Although if you have discriminating food palate, you might not be as happy with the food.  The good thing is that we ended up eating dinner outside the resort most nights, food is great and best of all, cheap.

home airport: toronto. but i flew out of buffalo a few time, too. it's only 1.5 hours away and much much cheaper.

I think it's called the Merien Coral Resort?  It's part of the Hilton family.
