A friend of mine wants to get into events planning.  She doesn't want to work for a company though, she wants to start her own firm.  Does anyone have experience with this line of work, how to get started and more?  I told her to start planning parties, to just start volunteering to start planning people's parties.  I don't have any other ideas though.
