Can I wear this together?

Denim jeans and a denim shirtdress?  I want to wear it over the jeans, but is that too much denim?  They're not the same shade of blue, the dress is a darker blue than the jeans.

I would have to see it.  If it looks the way I am imagining it, then definitely NO!  I have never seen denim on top and on the bottom work.

I'm not going to bother with a picture, I think it will look too matchy.  It's just too much denim.
