you gotta be able to say what you want in a forum, regardless if it's rude or not. Sections where sensitive topics are talked about should be given no censorship. A friendly warning before they enter the forum or section should given. No one wants to go to a forum where they can't speak their mind and give their view/opinions.
An intelligent debate is okay, but we won't tolerate people who result to name calling or insults. This comes from previous experience, it is really easy to get someone very angry and have them react in a rude way. Bottom line, we don't want anyone feeling offended, so some rules have to be put in place. At the same time, we don't want to encourage agressive behaviour (like people looking for a fight and using trigger language that will start a fight)because we don't want to turn people off.

I think this is one of the most well rounded websites around that include topics of all nature but mainly focuses on cars but at the same time lets individuals speak their mind.
That was weird, I felt like I entered Boyland. Their forum is civilized, I didn't see people getting into fights or anything like that. That's what we don't want, the fighting. I also noticed that the people on that forum didn't swear much. At any case, if people can discuss something that may be controversial in a CIVILIZED way, then that's okay. But if we see a topic getting out of hand, we will delete it. Example of a bad forum: Myspace.com. Majority of the people on that forum are completely incapable of having a semi-intelligent conversation becasue they're all defense and obsessed with being right. I have seen much swearing, name calling and plain slander from many of those members.
