Paging Anna - Chicago help

Hey girl.  I'm at training in St. Charles and have half of Sat and all of Sun off to spend in Chi-town.  I got a group together to go out and to try to get cubbie tix.  What area should we stay in and what are some good bars/clubs to go to (name and street?) and have you heard of either of these 2 sites since the cubs are sold out on Sunday.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

St. Charles is pretty far from Chicago.  Are you guys getting a rental car?  If you are, you can stay Downtown which will be $$$$ or near O'Hare which will be $$ or $$$.  From O'Hare you can easily get to St. Charles via car and Chicago hot spots via train or car.

If you get Cubbie tix (they are IMPOSSIBLE to get right now), I would suggest hanging around that area for the bars.  You can just walk up and down the neighborhood and explore all the different bars.  The gay area of town is near there, if you guys want to hit up some gay clubs.

If you don't get Cubbies, I would still recommend that area of town near Wrigleyville/Lakeview.  If you are more into the dance club thing, you will have to venture into downtown.  I can't help in that department through, I'm feel too old to go to the dance clubs these days.

Let me know if you need more help.

hmm we'll probably stay away from the gay clubs.  Its guys and girls going so not sure how well that would go over.

Is that a pretty safe area of town? I think we were just going to do orbitz or hotwire for a hotel and try to get tix online from a broker.  i just don't wanna step into the wrong side of town there.

It is a completely safe area.  Chicago is actually safer now than it has been in years.  Especially, closer to the lake where property values are through the roof.  There are a lot of restuarants and bars in that area, all within walking distance of each other.  There is also some good shopping in that area, boutique shopping.  There is a better shopping area West of there in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood.  Its very easily accesible via the L too.
