Is this true?

I just heard that it is more beneficial to work out for 20 minutes in the morning than to work out for 1 hour in the evening.  The reasoning was that you burn more calories (or maybe it was fat) when your stomach is empty.  Is this true?

huh, that seems wrong to me but can't really say for sure.  i don't get the logic behind it though.

I haven't heard that, but I did hear that if you eat one hour after your workout, then you really decrease the fat-burning potential.

I would imagine that if you didn't eat for a couple of hours at night and then went to work out, it would be the same thing as working out in the AM on an empty stomach.

I have heard it before (I read a lot of fitness mags), but I don't remember where.  The reasoning behind it was that your body is forced to use fat as an energy source for your workout.  Makes sense to me.

Bottom line is (and that is how I am able to workout 5x a week), you should workout when is most convenient for you.  I know that if I tried to go to the gym in the morning, I would never make it.  I love that SNOOZE button way too much

Let me just say I tried doing pilates first thing this morning and I'm not sure if I'm doing it again.  My muscles were so tight.  I'm not sure if it was because I'd just woken up or because I hadn't been doing the tape for a few months (but I've been walking religiously).

Personally, I get queasy when I work out in the morning. I'm not an early bird, and I think I just feel jolted out of a nice warm slumber. My body needs to get used to being awake before I can move around that much! I'm a late afternoon girl myself - just enough after lunch and before dinner... the perfect time. Although, working from home does provide me with that benefit!
