Where to find

Button up shirts that fit properly?  I have the worst time with these.  The last ones I tried at Express (in Sept) were way to big on me.  I've never been a small there but the small just was way too big.  Any suggestions? I'm on a shopping diet right now so suggestions for places that have them year round is great (i don't think they are seasonal but I may be wrong) and around $50 would be nice.

Do you have a problem with the buttons popping open or with that gaping space that happens right in the middle?

I have the same problem and I haven't found a shirt that fits properly either.  Sometimes I luck out with Ralph Lauren, but not always.  The worst problem is when they pull at the boobs but are SO HUGE at the back.  For some reason, my mom has luck when she buys me button up shirts from Fashion Bug.  I don't know if there is one near you, but it might be worth a try.  If anything else fails, put a small safety pin there.  If you get it right in between the fabrics, it doesn't show and it solved the boob problem.

Hmm. I'll have to check out RL.  I just couldn't believe the sizing on that last batch of express ones I tried on.  pretty shocking. who knows.  my love for express has been declining pretty quickly since last summer when they raised their prices so much.

I find the gap ones work really well.

have you tried NY&Co? I haven't been there in awhile, but I used to really like their dress shirts. They're usually pretty long, too.
