Search Engines

All you entrepreneurs out there... has any one done any pay per click advertising with the search engines and/or paid to have your listing come up higher in the results? If so, what were your results? Is it worth it?

I have not. My boyrfriend is a web designer and has for some of his projects but sometimes it ends up costing a lot. He has used Google Ad words. You can set it up for a certain time period but if you forget to shut it off it can get pricey. I've thought of doing it but i think it is better to post your link in forums like these. I've had good results, plus you are talking and getting feedback at the same time so it's great!

I believe he did get a good amount of hits, but it's good and bad bc you pay for each person who goes and some people could simply click and then close out, but you might get that person who stays and looks around. I'm sure it depends on the product and what type of person is going to your site. His was on car information, like loans and where to go to get car prices- things like that. so you might go to his site and it isn't what you thought so you close out quickly. I think it would def be something to try. I believe you can limit it and tell AdWords you only want to spend say $15.00 on ads. so after that it ends your ad until you turn it on again. so you can get a feel for it and a sampling of who will go to your site.
