This is my 1st post, & don't know if anyone can help. I have been designing Native American style necklaces, pendants & earrings over 15 years. Love chunky turquoise, malachite, jasper, lapis, etc, also love using unusual adornments like porcupine quills, rattlesnake bone, turtle claws, all very important to N.A. pieces. All are one of a kind, semi-precious gem stones, .925 sterling beads and findings. Now here in this area of NJ, this is not a big draw so recently I began a new line. A sort of city/chic/more feminine line of seed bead netted collars, spirals, a flat weave that sort of resembles a herringbone, which is very slinky, soft and sexy, great for a formal wear piece. Needless tosay, some of these pieces take up to 11 hours to make, so asking up to $150 is not unreasonable, which then prompted me to also add a line of `economic' pieces--$5 earrings, birthstone, seed bead stretchy rings, which are great for women with arthritis, seed bead crosses, all between $5-$14. So my dilema--I have my former site now at www.Picturetrail.com, member name: Beadfuldelights, so take a peak if you have the time. I want to try and branch out more towards some small boutiques, something we don't have here. I did the consignment shop deal, but they get 50%, & there is 1 small store that has a few of my pieces, but besides that, it's all word of mouth. I am a featured artist on www.beadjewelrymaking.com, so I am hoping that sends some people my way, but it is so competative now, there are literally 100's of thousands of jewelry sites-forget e-bay and auction sites, everyone wants something for a garage sale price! So after all that rambling, does anyone know of any boutiques, hopefully in the N.Y. area (but will take basically anywhere) that have email address? I only have 2, Fragements in Soho NY & East Winds in Fort Myers Fl. I know places like to see the product in front of them, but I am disabled and it is hard to get places, even local, I was born and raised in NY and would love to go down the village or Soho, but it is not possible, So if there is anyone who can help, I would really appreciate it.
